Dolly Parton fans may soon be seeing the singer’s life come to the big screen.

Parton is about to close her Blue Smoke World Tour and then she’ll be switching gears to musicals. In a press conference call today (July 10), Parton opened up about her tour, Doggy Dolly (who was claimed by his owners this very morning) and what the future holds.

Parton will end her tour next week, so asked her if she has any plans to extend the tour and when we can expect new music from the country singer.

“I’m going to take off a little while,” she told “I’m working on some new music. I’m doing my life story as a musical. I’m also doing my life story as a movie, which also has a lot of music in it. I may possibly do some television and some producing. I’ve got a lot of other business thoughts in mind. I do not plan do any more touring in the near future.”

She added: “I’m sure as the years go by we’ll be doing other things. For now, I’m going to concentrate more on business end of the things and creative stuff like the musical, movie and TV.”
