“Man, he did an amazing job” with the remix, Niemann told Steve Grunwald of CBS Detroit station WYCD. “I didn’t know what to expect [but] he brought it to another level.”
Even in its original form, Niemann’s song was already packed with strong EDM-inspired beats and primed more for dance floors than weeping into your beer at the local honky tonk. Pitbull’s remix of the song, though, takes that energy and cranks it up even higher. Listen to the remix below:
According to Niemann, he was attracted to “Drink to That All Night” because he felt it was the sort of song that was taking country music in new directions.
“I saw the song title and thought, well, it seems kind of cliche and not very original,” Niemann explained to Radio.com, describing the day he first encountered “Drink to That All Night.” Then “when I heard the song, I was like, ‘whoa, that’s very original.’”
