While the three members of Rascal Flatts are putting the final touch on their forthcoming album Rewind, they announced today (March 4) that one of the tracks from the record, “Compass,” will be featured in the upcoming film Heaven Is for Real.

“Compass” was written by GRAMMY-winning songwriter Diane Warren (“I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” “There You’ll Be,” “Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now”). It will appear on the Flatts’ next album Rewind, which is due in stores May 13.

In an interview with Radio.com, bandmates Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney shared a few more details about both the song and the film.

“We’ve got the end title theme for the movie, Heaven Is for Real, starring Greg Kinnear and Thomas Haden Church,” DeMarcus said.

“Can’t wait!” LeVox added. “If you look at the trailer, the song’s in there. The movie is going to be fantastic.” Watch the trailer below.

The film Heaven Is for Real is based on the best-selling book of the same name. DeMarcus explained the premise.

“It’s about a little boy, he was 3, and he died for nine minutes,” DeMarcus said. “They brought him back to life, and he said he’d seen Jesus and a bunch of family members he never met before, and he described them. Basically, it’s based on this book that’s supposedly a true story. It’s very heartwarming.”
