Scotty McCreery Defends SeaWorld Gig: ‘There’s Two Sides to Every Story’

By Annie Reuter

After several artists have backed out of performing at SeaWorld due to the controversy of the documentary Blackfish, two country singers are defending their decision to remain headliners.

Scotty McCreery will perform at Orlando’s SeaWorld this Saturday (March 1). Of his decision to still play the gig, McCreery said he read up on the SeaWorld situation.

“You know, there’s two sides to every story,” he said. “I’ve done my research, and I feel like it’s a fine decision to go out there and play SeaWorld.”

He added: “That was my biggest thing about this whole thing, was just making sure I knew both sides of the story.”

Meanwhile, Gretchen Wilson had similar thoughts regarding her show at SeaWorld, which took place Feb. 8. Before that show, she took to Twitter to let fans know the show would go on. “I did my research,” she wrote.

Alan Jackson and Kid Rock also chose to keep their February concert dates at SeaWorld.
