Florida Georgia Line is enjoying another hit with “Round Here,” which was co-written by Thomas Rhett. Despite the song’s success, Thomas says his wife was very upset that he allowed it to be recorded by another artist.

Thomas told USA Today, “My wife says ‘Round Here’ is her favorite song that I’ve ever written. She always said, I don’t care if that song sits in a pile forever, please don’t let anybody else cut that song.”

Giving her the bad — or good — news that Florida Georgia Line had cut it was tough. Thomas said, “I don’t know if she cried, but she was close to it. To this day, she’s like, ‘I can’t believe you gave away that song.'”

Thomas has also penned such hits as Jason Aldean‘s “1994,” Lee Brice‘s “Parking Lot Party,” and his own “It Goes Like This,” which is closing in on the Top 10 on the country charts.
