Jake Owen, Joe Nichols, Uncle Kracker Headline 31st Downtown Hoedown In Detroit

The 31st annual festival kicks off this weekend, with additional performers including Tate Stevens, Craig Morgan, Casey James, Aaron Lewis, Drake White, Parmalee, Maggie Rose, and Charlie Worsham.

Country music is taking over downtown Detroit this weekend. The three-day, 31st annual WYCD Downtown Hoedown kicks into gear this afternoon, with dozens of bands slated to play on three stages, all in the shadow of Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers. The festival continues Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2.

Uncle Kracker headlines the Friday lineup, which also includes Drake White, Ty Stone, American Idol‘s Tate Stevens, Parmalee, Maggie Rose, and Charlie Worsham.

Saturday features Jake Owen, Craig Morgan, Blackberry Smoke, and Emerson Drive, among many others; Sunday is headlined by Joe Nichols, with Phil Vassar, Casey James, Jon Pardi, Aaron Lewis, and Gunner & the Grizzly Boys among the additional performers.

Detroit’s WYCD will feature interviews with the 2013 artists (including the headliners), as well as reviews, features and photos from the whole weekend (see all the coverage).

Last year’s 30th anniversary festival featured Miranda Lambert (who performed solo and with the Pistol Annies), Dierks Bentley (his set included a moving tribute to his late father), Josh Gracin, Chris Young, Hunter Hayes, and Jana Kramer, among others.
