Willie Nelson has been making music for decades and in addition to being one of the most recognized artists in country music, he’s a well established and respected songwriter throughout the music world. Today, the Red Headed Stranger celebrates his 80th birthday and music fans and artists alike sent their birthday wishes to the singer.

“Happy 80th birthday, Willie! I don’t know how many more of them that you’ve got, but by God I know you’ll be here longer than the rest of us,” Kris Kristofferson said.

Keith Richards and Ringo Starr both left Willie a video message in celebration of his birthday.

“I’m here to wish you a very, very happy birthday ole boy. Let’s get together soon,” he said.

“They say it’s your birthday, Willie,” Starr began singing as he donned a cowboy hat. “I just wanted to say Happy Birthday and peace and love. I’m getting into the cowboy mode. Peace and love.”

Meanwhile, friend Jamey Johnson showed shock that he made it to 80 years old.

“There’s no following Willie. I don’t know how in the hell he made it to 80 years, but congratulations sir. Happy 80th birthday.”

Farm Aid, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to keep family farmers founded by Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp, gathered a slew of additional artists went on camera to add to the well wishes including Young, Kenny Chesney, Dave Matthews, Mellencamp, Chrissie Hynde, Sting and America’s family farmers.
