Did you see the great mash-up that Lady Antebellum performed with Hot Chelle Rae on last week’s CMT Music Awards show? The two groups combined “We Own The Night” with “Tonight, Tonight” and it was incredible. Their harmonies were ultra-tight, and for that we take you backstage to watch the rehearsal.

The setting is a bit unorthodox, but as anyone who loves music will tell you, a tiled bathroom makes for terrific echo. Some of the greatest hits have been recorded next to toilets. Singing in the shower can be fun AND profitable.

Hot Chelle Rae first alerted us to this technique with this tweet:

Do you realize that not only is Hot Chelle Rae based in Nashville, but lead guitarist Nash Overstreet has a country pedigree? His dad, Paul Overstreet, had huge country hits in the 80’s and 90’s such as “Daddy’s Come Around”, “Seein’ My Father In Me”, “Sowin’ Love”, “Ball and Chain” and many more.

And Nash’s brother, Chord, has been starring as “Sam Evans” on “Glee” for the last two seasons.
