2. Rascal Flatts

On the American Idol Results show, Carrie Underwood performed “Bless This Broken Road” with Rascal Flatts, who are one of her favorite country groups.

3. “Independence Day”

Carrie Underwood was just 22 years old when she was crowned American Idol on May 25th, 2005, beating out Bo Bice. During the show, Carrie sang a few Martina McBride songs, including “Independence Day.”

4. World’s Sexiest Vegetarian

Carrie is a well known vegan and in 2005 was voted “World’s Sexiest Vegetarian”, sharing the honor with Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin of Coldplay.

5. “Some Hearts”

Her debut album, “Some Hearts” was released in February 2006 and went on to sell over 7 million copies, and included her first single, “Inside Your Heaven.” From there the rest is history.

6. Entertainer of the Year

Carrie is the first country artist to win back-to-back “Entertainer of the Year” awards at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

7. Care Bears

Carrie Underwood’s die-hard fans are know as “Care Bears” because he name sounds like “Care” and she was a member of the same sorority as the co-creator of the “Care Bears.”

8. “Soul Surfer”

Carrie Underwood made her acting debut in April 2011 in the movie, “Soul Surfer” playing the role of Sarah Hill.

9. Mike Fisher

Carrie married Nashville Predators star Mike Fisher on July 10th, 2010. Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and even Paula Abdul were in attendance.

10. “Hello, Twitter world!”

Carrie did not participate in social media until she joined Twitter on February 24th, 2012 with a simple tweet: “Hello Twitter world!” She now has nearly 145,000 followers.


Carrie is not only nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year at the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, but also Vocal Event of the Year for her duet with Brad Paisley, “Remind Me.”
