Produced by country legends Jimmy Bowen, Phil Gernhard and Ray Ruff, Family Tradition was a 10-song Hank Jr. set released on Curb Records in 1979.

Along with a handful of Hank originals (including the title track, which went ot #4 on the country singles chart), it also included covers of the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bee Gees[/lastfm] (“To Love Somebody”) and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bobby Fuller[/lastfm] (“I Fought the Law”).

As good as the music inside, the cover featured a wry photo of Junior crashed on the bed, picking away at his guitar, whiskey glass at his side, papers strewn on the floor. In short, making it happen in the “family tradition.”
